CHD Conservation Kenya Honours Korinko’s Secondary School’s Environmental Club Invitation.

June 24th 2023.

CHD Conservation Kenya was honoured to receive an invitation from the Environment Club at Korinko Secondary School. The club’s patron, Mr Samuel Mbithii, had previously participated in our Tupende Mazingira Training of Trainers program, and we were delighted to see his commitment to environmental education bear fruit.

Our team led by Collins Busuru the Programs Manager and Anorld Otieno, the Green Project Sustainability Manager arrived at Korinko Secondary School eager to share our knowledge and passion for conservation with the students. We conducted an engaging environmental talk, focusing on the importance of protecting our natural resources, conserving biodiversity, and mitigating the effects of climate change. We were delighted by the students’ remarkable enthusiasm and active participation in the discussion.

As part of our visit, CHD Conservation Kenya donated 100 trees to the educational centre, symbolizing our commitment to reforestation efforts across and beyond the Amboseli ecosystem. Under the guidance of Collins, Arnold and Stephen, the students eagerly rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty, planting the seedlings in designated areas within the school compound. This practical exercise not only enhanced their understanding of the importance of trees but also instilled a sense of ownership and responsibility towards nature.

We express our gratitude to Mr Samuel, the Environment Club’s patron, for inviting us and continuously advocating for conservation within the school. We also extend our appreciation to the school administration for their support and for providing an excellent platform for environmental education.

A big shoutout to the students who are members of the environment club for welcoming us, planting and adopting the 100 trees and for their incredible dedication to conservation. Your commitment to a greener future is inspiring. Tuzidi kupenda mazingira.
